in favor of illegals & against activists!

Patriots united to show their love of country, Minutemen, and Border Agents for Valentine's Day in reaction to Calderon's Media Blitz.

It was a blast. We all gave "Free Hugs", sweetheart candy, and buttons - Minutemen hearts or I heart USA.  I've never had so many heartfelt hugs before from men and women alike.  One young man even left the craps table to come get a hug for good luck, then kissed my cheek, grabbed another hug and went back to try his luck again.

Minutemen were asking women "Can I give you a kiss?" while handing them candy kisses.  My husband, Darrell, was giving them flowers for their hair.

Casino workers from Harrah's, Imperial Palace and O'Shea's came out to hug us and some that couldn't leave their table in the pit gave us the thumbs up.  It was rewarding to see so many tourists smile and come for a hug and a kiss, knowing we were Minutemen and activists opposing illegal immigration.  Many people asked about border operations, thanked us for doing what we do and wanted to know more about Ramos and Compean.

People joined us that we'd never met before.  One was a Ron Paul MeetUp Organizer, Shelly, who said her mom read it in USA Today.  Another gentleman was visiting from Texas and saw it in Tuesday's Las Vegas Sun.  He was so informed and talked to so many people about Ramos & Compean that we ran out of Free Ramos & Compean buttons.  He even gave a lesson to the bicycle cops.  (If anyone knows his name, please let me know so I can give him credit here).

Everything we had to give went within a span of 3-1/2 hours.  It was a successful effort to express who we are and why we do what we do. We hugged so many people and had such a good time.  Thanks to everyone who came out.

Opposition

While standing along the sidewalks in front of the Frontier, a car passing by threw some jugs at some of us.  More seriously, a Hispanic passenger in a silver rental car shouted to us that this country is his land and he was going to shoot us.  The police were called.  They came out and took a report and were looking for him.  I even got a hug from the cop who came to take the report!
Having things thrown at us and threats of shootings, shows us we're doing the right thing.  As one of our attendees commented, It's not a successful event, unless you've upset the opposition.
