Thanks to all of you for being here today. I want to give special thanks to LisaMarie for all her hard work in organizing this “March for America” here in Las Vegas.
I want to say thank you to all the organizations and concerned citizens represented here today--- I believe all of us share the same concern, which is that “WE ARE LOSING OUR COUNTRY!”
There are 20 to 35 million illegal aliens in our country today--- 80 percent of which are Hispanics/Latinos.
Our government has allowed our borders, especially our southern border, to remain wide open for decades at the behest of big business in order to feed their insatiable appetite for cheap labor!
Our government has pushed amnesty for these millions of illegal immigrants because they have already agreed to “open borders” under SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership).
We of “You Don’t Speak For Me” are Americans of Hispanic/Latino heritage who believe in America. We believe in the governmental institutions and laws that make this country the greatest in the world.
We are, under the leadership of our founder Col. Albert Rodriguez, Americans of Hispanic heritage speaking out AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!
Americans, such as myself, are being shouted down by the hate and race-directed rhetoric of those who do not appreciate the laws of our country!
We are standing together to say to those who come here illegally and those who would give AMNESTY to those who have BROKEN OUR LAWS, YOU ARE WRONG AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE CLAIMING TO SPEAK FOR ALL AMERICAN-HISPANICS.
Our principles are simple:
(1) All immigration should be legal!
(2) Illegal aliens from ANY COUNTRY should never be rewarded with benefits or privileges.
(3) NO AMNESTY - NO WAY! Amnesty is rewarding people who break the law!
(4) Secure our borders NOW and fully enforce our immigration laws! Our immigration system is NOT BROKEN! It does not matter how many laws we enact---IF OUR LAWS ARE NOT ENFORCED, THEY ARE USELESS!!!
Local and state law enforcement should be free to enforce our immigration laws! Employers who hire illegal workers should be heavily fined and if a pattern of practice is established, their owners/corporate officers should be fined and jailed for the offenses and their corporate charter revoked!
LEARN AND SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!
Learning the language of this country is the very least an immigrant can do!
Many people are surprised when I share with them that as a child starting school--- I could not speak English!
Although I was born in southern California and my parents and grandparents, except for my maternal grandmother, were all born in the State of New Mexico, my mother wanted me to speak Spanish and I am grateful to her for that!
There was no bilingual education when I went to school and I thank God for that. In my opinion, bilingual education handicaps students--- it takes them twice as long to gain command of the English language.
THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND WE SPEAK ENGLISH HERE!!!
And in closing, I would like to leave you with the words of our late President Theodore Roosevelt who in 1907 said:
“There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all.
We have room but for one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room but for one sole loyalty, and that is a loyalty to the American people.
President Roosevelt was against “hyphenated Americans” and the prospect of a nation brought to ruins by a “tangle of squabbling nationalities.”
He also insisted, on more than one occasion, that America has no room for what he called 50-50 allegiance.
In a speech he made in 1917, he said, “It is our boast that we admit the immigrant to full fellowship and equality with the native-born. In return, we DEMAND that he shall share our undivided allegiance to the one flag which floats over all of us.”
BUT, of course, President Theodore Roosevelt was speaking about LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.
And I would like to take this opportunity to THANK any and all “LEGAL IMMIGRANTS” who join us here today; THANK YOU for entering this country the “RIGHT WAY” AND HELPING TO MAKE THIS THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH!”
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
