Robert Graham - A Changing Nation

Good Morning Las Vegas! - Let's hear it!
My name is Bob Graham.  I am a veteran of the Viet Nam conflict.  I was drafted October 18th, 1968 in the "largest peace time draft" in the USA.  While I have only the fondest memories of every person I had the pleasure of service with, I have had many discussions with fellow veterans and active service personnel since my service in the US Army.

Only one real issue remains constant in each discussion.  We did not have time for politics while doing our jobs and covering each others' backs.  We all had jobs of one sort or another, but the whole mission boiled down to protecting each other while working toward the goals set forth by our commanding officers in the war arena and this did not come from a political stance.  The time we all spent in the military was done so to protect the USA WE HAD GROWN TO KNOW AND LOVE, from outside forces and influence, so when we returned from the war, it would still be the COUNTRY WE KNEW AND LOVED.

Unfortunately, returning home from Viet Nam was not to the USA we knew, but to a country which had changed dramatically, and a whole lot had to do with politicians who effected changes which would later affect the lives of all who fought.

This is what those in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and other places in the world will face if the North American Union and the Security and Prosperity Partnership are allowed to be enacted.

There will be large scale changes in the Sovereignty of the USA, large scale changes in the socio economic makeup (quite possibly the eradication of the middle class), and many other unforeseen problems which will change the USA dramatically from what our brother and sister military knew as the USA THEY LOVED.  These are matters which could have very long range and possible negative effects on our way of life.

Let's break it down a little.

NORTH AMERICAN UNION

Who are we UNITING with?
What are we bringing to the table?  (I assure you it is more than they bring)
What are they bringing to the table?  (I assure you it is less than we bring)
How can we benefit when we stand to lose more than we gain?

SECURITY AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP

SECURITY OF NORTH AMERICA

We haven't begun to show our abilities of securing our own borders after many years.  How are we going to secure more borders, borders which belong to other Sovereign Nations?  How are the people of those other "Sovereign Nations" going to respond?

What is the response of the USA if the Canadians and Mexicans don't like the program?  Is this another chance for the USA Military to play cop?  More lives lost, more expense?

The "Security" is being presented as a way to assure more "STREAMLINED FLOW" across borders, which I presume is for the benefit of the "PROSPERITY" section of this grand experiment.

PROSPERITY

Who can guarantee prosperity, and to who is it guaranteed?  I have tried to see how this act will help people like you and me - and I can't see it.

PARTNERSHIP

Is it true partnership?  It is the belief of myself and many veterans I have talked with, that the United States will have to come to the table willing to make many changes and sacrifices for both of these projects to even get started, let alone succeed as projected.  Are we ready to make these changes and sacrifices for the sake of a project put forth by a few politicians who have high hopes for their success in furthering a "One World Government"?

THESE ARE THOUGHTS AND VIEWS OF MANY VETERANS AND CURRENT ACTIVE MILITARY PERSONNEL  (You know, the ones we all count on when we need to count on someone to fix what politicians start).

THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR THESE EXPERIMENTS AND THIS IS NOT THE COUNTRY TO TRY IT ON!!

PLEASE SAY NO TO THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION AND THE SECURITY AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP!!
